Private Naturalist Guided Tours

We had a great tour with Skip this week! My husband recently injured his knee and we were afraid we would miss out on experiencing the beauty of El Yunque! Skip made sure that didn’t happen! He picked us up at our hotel and told us so much about the ecosystems and history of the island on our drive. He designed a great tour for us that allowed my husband to safely do as much as he could and made many stops along the way for photos and to point out local flowers or wildlife. My daughter and I got to swing above the falls and jump in Rio Blanco into a beautiful natural pool! On our way back to the hotel Skip stopped at a local restaurant And got us a variety of local food to try all of which was delicious! To finish up the tour he stopped at a local bakery and sent us home with a sweet taste of the island and all the beautiful pics he took for us along the way!! It was everything we could have hoped for! Definitely recommend scheduling a tour with Skip especially if your a nature buff and like to learn about what your seeing!

Skip is the man!! We saw so many beautiful animals and plants!!! I cannot recommend him enough!! He is so knowledgeable and has such an appreciation of all things Puerto Rico!!! We did 2 tour days with Skip. He was knowledgeable, outgoing and fun, and even got my 14 yr old to say “Oh, that’s cool.” We would definitely recommend him for your tour needs. It was especially helpful during these COVID restrictions.

My boyfriend and I booked Skip for a 5 hour tour to El Yunque. Skip was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Friendly and fun. Went above and beyond to make our experience everything we wanted it to be. And we didn’t expect to have him be our personal photographer for the trip, but that was an added amazing bonus ! My husband and I had a great time on our tour with Skip. I messaged to ask if we could stop for coffee on the way out of San Juan and he took us to an amazing coffee farm out of the city. Skip is very knowledgeable about the rich ecosystems of Puerto Rico and we learned a lot while enjoying the awesome scenery. Also really enjoyed the lechon lunch. It was an unforgettable day made possible by Leila and Skip!

100% recommend!! If you’re looking for flexible, down to earth, extremely informative tour guides then look no further! These two did an amazing job of helping us identify birds and find an unreal amount of sea glass! They introduced us to local and delicious food and made our experience one to remember forever! We can’t thank them enough and absolutely recommend them to anyone looking! Can’t wait to visit the island again and book another tour!

Skip stopped here and there to point out little details and share his vast knowledge. During our hike he pointed out birds, and talked in-depth about the flora of the island. We are plant nerds so this was great! He shared science and folklore. It is evident Skip has a passion for nature and sharing it with others comes natural. I would 100% recommend spending the day with Skip whether this be your first time to the island or your tenth.

What can I say? We had a blast with skip. So much information about the island, it’s history and culture. We designed our trip to fit the needs of my seven year old and 63 year old mother. Skip took tons of pictures, guided us through el yunque rainforest, lunch at a delicious outdoor restaurant and lastly a beach where my family could swim. At the end of the day my daughter said skip was her friend and she can’t wait to show him her seashells she found on the beach.
